Crunchmaster crackers are on sale at my local Food Lion this week. They are regularly $2.99 for 4.5 ounces, but the combination of markdown and kiosk coupon made it $1.75 per bag on my shopping trip today. I was happy to stock up, because the sea salt version is my cracker of choice since going gluten-free a couple of months ago.
I have been trying to reduce my intake of processed foods, but I do like these crunchy, salty snacks. They have a good texture and a slight corn chip flavor. (Whole grain yellow corn is listed as one of the ingredients.) They are more like baked snack crackers than saltines:
My husband, who is a tough critic of new foods, said these crackers were actually good enough to purchase again. We have enjoyed them with wine and cheese; of course, I’ve also eaten several straight out of the bag. I would not hesitate to serve these when entertaining guests.
